93-9, let's hope the last wicket does not add 60, this time.

More than half-way there! 200 is the tops that I want them to chase, I suppose if they were 130 - 2 we'd all be depressed! Still, if the tail enders can put on 40+ runs, the wicket can't be all that bad?
With Notts losing and Durham struggling, this is a huge chance to stamp our authority on the CC. So watch us go and blow it.

Hooray. The last wicket falls at 130. This made 37 for the last wicket, once again the highest in their innings.

Does anyone know the answer to this:

Has the last innings partnership ever been the highest partnership in both innings?

All out - 163 to win - could have been a lot worse! We should chase it down, but I think there will be one or two scrapes on the way.

Hucking fell, their women are almost as bad as their men!!

Hmm yeah good bowling display! But look at the batting. Great innings from Ebony-Jewel Cora-Lee Camellia Rosamond Rainford-Brent Smile

And news is she is going to marry Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas Very Happy Laughing Laughing

So not Chilton, then?? I suppose it saves her waiting round an hour and a half for him to score.

Now am I imagining this or did someone else see the same thing?

I was sure I saw on Sky Text that Hampshire were 99 all out, so it was a shock some time later to see they were 122 for 9 and still batting. On TV Michael Atherton mentioned that Flintoff had taken 3 wickets in the Hants second innings, whereas he only finished with 2, so perhaps the final 'ghost' wicket was given to Flintoff (when the score was 99) and then retracted.

Anyway, we would have settled for 163 to win. I like to think of it by dividing the total by ten, so if each wicket can score 17 runs we will win, therefore so far Vincent and Horton have ensured that we are ahead of par.

Does anyone remember a game at Blackpool in 1997 when Warwickshire were the visitors? We needed 88 to win and were variously 28 for 4 and 45 for 6. Not as much technology in those days and it seemed every 15 minutes or so I was ringing my daughter up at home to read out the score from Ceefax. Hegg and Yates saw us home; three wickets to spare in the end. Hopefully it will be more straightforward tomorrow, although looking at the scores there certainly seems to be plenty of encouragement for the bowlers.

What's the weather forecast for down there? Let's hope it not going to keep us in the pavilion for a few hours, like it did at Hove!

Two, irritating, last wicket stands but we are still in a great position to win.

Shame Keeds didn't get chance to create a last wicket stand himself. He's not a no. 11 bat on current form !

Was at the game Darren Shadford played and bowled at a far pace, good game of cricket. The link if it works is above.

Yes, thanks for that, the link worked.

A strange game, in that with a first innings lead of 223 and Warwickshire at 98 for 6 in their second knock, it would have been a "defeat from the jaws of victory" had we lost.

Shadford took five wickets, although his 11 overs went for 80 runs. Had they gone for a more regulation 30 or 40, the nerves wouldn't have been jangling as much!

Went down to the Rose Bowl on Sunday - great display from the boys even with the annoying last wicket stand. Chapple was superb and we looked a class above them! Weather forecast fine today, should wrap it up soon after lunch.

Without those two last wicket stands we would have won by now (if we had taken the extra eight overs last night).

Likely results today:

Lancs win Smile

Kent beat Yorks

Surrey beat Notts (or draw)

Somerset vs Durham - should be a draw unless Langer is too inventive with his declaration

This is the table after bonus points of current games:

Nottinghamshire - 94
Yorkshire - 85
Lancashire - 83
Kent - 82
Durham - 81
Somerset - 79
Sussex - 73
Surrey - 69
Hampshire - 68

Therefore, Lancs likely to be top

Horton - disgraceful! His average is now only .02 above 50 - who does he think he is - Chilton? Time he was dropped ;-P

Meanwhile, should be able to manage this, even Lancashire. Might take Keeds coming in to steady the ship (why is he a place below Mahmooduck?) but I am so looking forward to seeing the table when I get home tonight!
