Well not really bitter, I would have expected it, in that they are a division higher and had "home" advantage.

My thoughts are that Manchester United still win most of their games both domestically and in Europe, they pack Old Trafford every home match, Ferguson still has tens of millions to spend every season and most Premiership clubs seem to have foreign owners these days.

So all I was wondering, is why some of their fans don't seem to like the Glazers when it all seems business as normal, and why was there the need to start a new club?

Agree Madsen scored alot of runs last season in Div 2. He has an EU passport of some description, maybe Italian, I think so will be around even though he hasnt played Test cricket.

Is Neil Mckenzie still in the picture with South Africa?

Wayne Madsen, now at Derby would have been good for us next year, how did we miss him, he was pro at a club side in the Central Lancs League for the last couple of seasons.

There will definately be an overseas player coming have no worries about that.

The club seem to be leaning towards a spinner.

This would leave us very short of experienced batsmen. Given their reluctance to give Brown or Shankar any Pro40 games in 09 it would suggest the club dont see promoting our younger players as the answer.

Watkinson now admits DuPlessis return is in grave doubt (but still wont completely concede defeat on this.

An overseas spinner leaves us with Horton Moore Chilton and Croft of any real experience. Surely Moores couldnt contemplate this for a full CC season?

I have a feeling we are after a Kolpak batsman and are waiting to see if any of the older South Africans are frozen out of their squad for the England series.

Also rumours of unrest over the hills with McGrath maybe being deposed as skipper and leaving despite having 2 years on his contract. Nearly came to us 2 years ago but the move was blocked. A friend of Chapple and good county bat but in the Laxman category for mobility as he is carrying a bit of weight so maybe doesnt fit with our new regime.

Anyone heard any rumours of potential signings?

His first ball back for an England XI was a wide, but the rest of the over appears ok.

2-12 off 4.4 overs so far for Jimmy Anderson.

I also think we need an overseas player in the C.C but after Moores coming in last season who must be on a decent pay packet we can`t have much left in pot, of the players in and out, i`am only guessing but it looks to me like Loye`s wage would cover Moore, Prince/Laxman/Mullaney would cover Flintoff and Faf would cover Proctor/Montgomery.

I would imagine an overseas batsman will come. The loss of Loye,Laxman and probably Faf will leave a middle order hole that cannot be adequatley filled by what we have left.
