| Just wondering if there any cricket ground hoppers on here? I've been to 86 grounds for bona fide county cricket competitions. |

That's two grounds for every post, pvfc1 (as of the present). I've had a quick count up of grounds, and I reckon I have been to about 30. This includes one in Hertfordshire. Anyone guess where? _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |

Like to visit other grounds , including grounds where 2nd XI play.
Havent been to anywhere near as many as you guys yet but working on it.
Did see Victora v Tasmania (well an afternoon session anyway) at St Kilda Oval in '89 I think. Always remembered for Merv Hughes reaction to a young lad, about 11 or so asking him for an autograph when he was fielding on the boundary. Good aussie response
"F**K off Kid!"
ps When i saw thread subject I though it was about an IPL team...

I have forgotten about Shenley! That makes it two matches I have seen Lancashire play in Hertfordshire. I saw that match - it was the final Sunday League (or whatever it was called then) in 2002. It was against Middlesex - and we won! Anyone guess the other ground in Hertfordshire ground at which Lancashire have played? _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |

If we are talking first class grounds only then i only have the paltry figure of 21 venues including three overseas grounds, but that may increase shortly.
Of the major grounds in the UK i am still missing the Oval as the only test ground to visit.
Now if you asked me about football - 127 grounds at the last count. |

I doubt it, but I am not au fait with his life story apart from the Bodyline tour.
Clue: Lancashire have played at least three matches here, all Sunday League. One I went to was rained off, and the one I saw we lost. The team we played against was not Middlesex or Essex. _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |

I'm sure that's the one I thought then.
Jardine lived just around the corner.
(check the town name on wikipedia, am I right?) _________________ [b]

Wouldn't be Northants would it? Not sure on the Jardine connection. |

I might be wrong then, but we played Hertfordshire in the Natwest trophy about ten years ago.
At a ground where Jardine was a local, and Walcott & Border are members.
It was the second round and we were playing the giant killers, Herts having knocked out a first class county in the first round by scoring 300+.
I didn't go to the game, but remember it because I drove past the ground during the game - unfortunatly I couldn't stop as the boss was with me and we were on our way to a meeting. _________________ [b]

Very clever, Holloway. Indeed, the ground was Tring. I saw two matches there in successive years in the mid-80s, losing the first and the second was rained off. I had forgotten about the Shenley match which I saw and lancashire won.
I don't remember Lancashire playing Herts in the Gillette Cup. I really must add up the grounds to. Off hand, the only counties I have not seen play at home are Somerset, Worcestershire, Durham and Gloucestershire. _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |
