Id assume that the selection discussion will be along the lines of:
Cook
Strauss (Key)
Vaughan
Pieterson
Bell
Collingwood (Bopara)
Ambrose
Broad
Anderson (Hoggard)
Sidebottom
Panesar
With Flintoff & Harmlessone mentioned. _________________ [b]

Strauss would be unlucky to be dropped after 177 in his last test innings, and Key has just had a flat game for England 'A'. |

Hence why I had Strauss in the team, and Key just coming into consideration. _________________ [b]

| I'd stick with the same team and if Collingwood is injured Shah or Bopara. |

The Daily Torygraph was saying today that the only real discussion will be on whether Flintoff should replace Anderson. Now that's freddie's injured it looks Jimmy will be in the squad instead of Freddie. Well, that should strengthen the batting.
Hoggard should be in the squad with either him, Panasar or Jimmy as twelfth man. _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |

Put it this way if he played for Lancs we'd all be raving about him. |

| Hmm, Anderson not picked in the final XI, returns to Trent Bridge on Thursday afternoon, just in time to bat after a lesser bowler/better batsman has bowled Jimmy overs. (Remeber when this happened before and Steve Crook did the bowling and Anderson the batting) |

| Hoggard and Harmison played in the last two Tests that we lost. Broad and Anderson in the last two we won. Why change a winning team. |

I agree Slipstream and as Jimmy has made a good start to the season (in the first class game at least) he may well get the nod on Thursday. The irony is, though, is that Flintoff would almost certainly have been in the team at Jimmy's expense if he did not have the side strain. _________________ Andrew in Ware, Hertfordshire |
